Last Post Ceremony, Australian War Memorial

Lieutenant Alan Fairlie Kyle, 1st Australian Dvision SIgnals Company.

On 1 April 2022, the Australian War Memorial’s daily Last Post Ceremony will share the story of Lieutenant Alan Fairlie Kyle DSC, 4th Divisional Signal Company and Coastwatch.

Kyle was assigned to the 4th Divisional Signal Company as a sapper in the First World War. 

He served as a Coastwatcher in the Second World War and is listed on the Roll of Honour, amongst almost 40,000 Australians who died while serving in the Second World War.

The Last Post Ceremony commences at approximately 4.45pm AEDT and there is no cost to attend. The Australian War Memorial encourages attendees to register for a ticket in advance as numbers are limited. More information on the ceremony can be found here.
