2022 marked a significant historical milestone for ASD – on 1 April, it was 75 years since ASD’s establishment. As we commemorate our 75th anniversary, we celebrate our success and recognise our unique contribution to protecting Australia yesterday, today and tomorrow.

This milestone provides us with an opportunity to share our stories. For 75 years we’ve kept our own national secrets safe and helped to protect and uplift Australia’s overall cyber defences. As we look ahead to what the next 75 years might bring, we look forward to sharing our remarkable history with you.

Events throughout the year will showcase ASD’s role, history and functions. These events will provide opportunities to explore how ASD has historically protected Australia’s security, safety and prosperity, and given Australia an edge over its adversaries.
